Texas State Aquarium: welcome to Sian Ka’an Biosphere


After being developing this exhibition for years, the Texas State Aquarium in the beautiful city of Corpus Cristi invites you to know Caribbean Journey. This exhibition has the best of the Caribbean. The Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve is a biodiverse area located in the Peninsula de Yucatan in Mexico. There are walking trails full of life, vibrant habitats with coral formations, cenotes and great variety of animals. This exhibition includes 400,000 gallons with different species of sharks, which you can see from above or below through the biggest acrylic window in North America with 68 feet long. It also has the exciting attraction of fourth dimension Movie Theater designed to make you feel inside the movie.

In addition, there are different interactive activities, educational and of practice. Moreover Caribbean Journey is the home of dozens of plants, flowers and exotic trees that are located in the Sian Ka’an and are isolated by a skylight roof. You will see fishes of all imaginable colors, beautiful corals.

All the excitement starts in the Jungle, with the Boa Emerald Tree, there are also Caribbean flamencos, the famous rana Green Tree Frog, the charismatic sloths or Linneaeus two toed sloth, the cardinal red capped, the exotic toucan and many species more.
